Many people feel a need to change their job, education, life partners, or material possessions. They feel that whatever they currently have is not enough or not right. Is gut feeling right or wrong?

Important Question

Ask yourself are you Leaving or Are you Going? For example

· Quitting Job:

Do you hate your current job or the new job is your passion?

· Changing Education:

Are you quitting because the current subject is hard or because something else is more interesting?

· Breakup / Divorce

Are you Leaving someone because they are not good to you or because you want someone better than them?

· Changing Phone

Are you changing your phone because the current one doesn’t do its job or because the new one is fancier?

Asking this simple question will clear all clouds of doubt and you will be clearly able to know the Why behind your action.

Right Choice

Choose the option that gives you ‘long term happiness’ instead of short-term pleasure. Allow me to demonstrate with numbers. Knowing the real “Why” will help you find these Happines Numbers.

If your current job gives you. Happiness = 5 . And New Job will give you Happiness = 7. The Time to change the Job will give you Sadness of -10.

For 2 years

Keeping Old Job = 5 + 5 = 10 Happiness

Shifting Job = 7 + 7–10 = 4 Happiness .

For 6 years

Keeping Old Job = 5 +5 + 5 +5 + 5 + 5 = 30

Shifting Job = 7 + 7 + 7 +7 + 7 + 7 -10 = 32 Happiness

Bottomline, if you are only looking to work for 2 years then Keep current Job whereas if you are looking to work for more than 6 years, Shift to New Job.

Conclusion

Don’t make a decision by love or hate. take a decision to maximize ‘your own happiness’. Ask yourself are you leaving something/someone or are you going to be with something/someone.
